District 6 Coalition of Neighborhood Associations

Encouraging safe and healthy communities through equity and equality in our neighborhoods!

Message from the President:

Member Association Members and Citizens of District Six:

It is my honor and privilege to serve as Your President.  May I call to your attention the Members of the D-6 Executive Board:

Vice President - Ms. Khadijah Bottom, Committee Chair, Homeless Programs
Treasurer- Ms.Patricia Willson, Committee Chair, Zoning/IDO Compliance
Secretary Ms. Amanda Warr,  Committee Chair, Economic Development
Director of Communications - Mr. Ryan Kious Committee Chair, Communications
Web Manager - Ms. Sara Osborne

I serve as Committee Chair, Transportation.  All of the above, Standing Committees.

The over arching Goal for the District Six Executive Board in to Make Life Better for all Citizens. Our Coalition  is composed of 17 Neighborhood Associations. The D-6 Executive Board is tasked with the responsibility to provide a Voice for our Community to City, County and State Government. It is our belief that District Six  will become the Economic Engine for our City and County. From every direction of the Compass you find Centers such as Nob Hill, the University of New Mexico and CNN, the Sun Port, Kirtland Air Force Base, UNM, Presbyterian and Lovelace hospitals.  Within our boundaries we find the must affluent neighborhoods as well as under invested Blue Collar Communities.  In order to MAKE LIFE BETTER, the Executive Board will use Best Practices and Effective Leadership to improve the  quality of life, public safety and increase financial and economic development across D-6. When representing the Constituents of District 6, I will be persistent and relentless in the pursuit of  equity and fairness.  Systemic Racism will be confronted and will no longer be accepted as the norm.

Finally I pledge, that to the best of my ability, to hold Government accountable. No longer will promises and unfunded mandates be accepted.  The D6 community will have a seat at the Table, as a full Partner with City and County Government. It is my objective to develop with City and County Government a  multi-year Master Plan for our District  Such a plan is necessary to sustain those things important and to prepare  for the challenges of the future

Dr. Peter M Belletto
